30 March 2020 Off By Rached CHADER

We will use 3 servers:

  • RDSH01 – Remote Desktop Session Host Server
  • RDWA01 – Web access server
  • RDCB01 – RD Connection Broker Server

Since we are going to distribute the roles on several servers, we will execute the standard deployment on RDCB01.We must be able to see these servers in order to install roles.

In the server manager (RDCB01), we will right-click on All servers and choose Add servers.

We will add RDSH01 and RDWA01. Click on OK

Once finished, we will click on Manage and select Add Roles.
The Before You Begin page is displayed. Click on Next.
On the Select Installation Type page, click Remote Desktop Services Installation, Next

On the Deployment type page, we will select Standard deployment, Next

On the Deployment Scenario page, we will select Session-based desktop deployment, Next

We will now choose the server that will be the Connection Broker, the web access and the session host. On the first screen, choose RDCB01, add it and click Next.

We will add Web Access and on the last page, add the session host.

We will check the restart destination server box & Click on Deploy to install the roles.

We will click Close at the end of the installation

On Remote Desktop Services we will see the deployment servers, just like with the quick start, but now the roles are distributed on 3 different servers.

We will see in the next article Remote Desktop Services Collections
